Summary

These are photos of the largest of the hognosed snakes - the Malagasy (Madagascan) Giant hognosed snake. These powerful snakes overpower their prey with their massive muscular bodies. Although not contrictors, they can easily pin and hold rodents, birds, and small mammals to the ground and may often consume one prey item while holding another pinned to the ground! Special thanks to mark O'Shea for providing photos for this page.
