Summary

Various subspecies of Lystrophis dorbignyi are becoming more common in private reptille collections. Unfortunately, locality data for these species is lacking and there are no serious projects to identify subspecific characteristics outside of their native ranges. As subspecies are crossed in the United States for the pet trade, the potential for determining locality-specific characteristics is becoming lost.
